EASTER ORIGINS AND MISUNDERSTANDING

Easter is the day Messiah Christ Jesus became visible beyond the grave. “Easter Is The World’s Most Historically Verified Holiday.”

Easter is the historical account and conclusive evidence of that Messiah.

Easter is an astonishing holiday. The greatest miracle the world has ever known. The most provable holiday in history. The internet is a terrific means of information; true and false. Before you begin posting comments with the myth that Easter is a pagan holiday named after Ishtar, please do some research and let's stop perpetuating a lie.

It all goes back to a book by Alexander Hislop, called The Two Babylons. He was considered an expert and his material was quoted hundreds of times in numerous books until actual scholars exposed him as a complete fraud who misrepresented his educational qualifications, did faulty research, faked credentials, and much more. His book has been refuted numerous times for its blatant lies, terrible misrepresentations, racism, and tremendously flawed scholarship.

So, where does the word Easter come from in the English language?

William Tyndale, while in exile in Germany, started using the word "Easter" for the Greek word "Pascha" in his 1525 English New Testament. Please recognize that he used "Easter" taken from the German word that means resurrection as a synonym for the Jewish Passover and never in association with any pagan festival.

The word "Easter," is actually of German/Saxon origin and likely not Babylonian as Alexander Hislop falsely claimed.

The German equivalent is Oster. Oster (Ostern being the modern day equivalent) is related to Ost which means the rising of the sun, or simply in English, east. Oster comes from the old Teutonic form of auferstehen / auferstehung, which means resurrection, which in the older Teutonic form comes from two words, Ester meaning first, and stehen meaning to stand. These two words combine to form erstehen which is an old German form of auferstehen, the modern day German word for resurrection.

So the term "Easter," in English, draws on the Germanic term "oster," a root in the word "resurrection." The full rendering is made up two terms, "Ester" meaning first, and "stehen" meaning to stand.

Easter Sunday is non-trans-ferable. Easter is the day Messiah Christ Jesus became visible beyond the grave. “Easter Is The World’s Most Historically Verified Holiday.”
